David Strom:
Making the most of technology
Welcome to my site. Here you can get an
idea of what I can do to help inform, educate, and even amuse your audiences
and readers.
Whether you got your first PC at age
60 or grew up with an Apple in your crib, you are my kind of person. I love
sharing my years of experience using computer networks, keeping them secure,
and understanding how to create and deploy Internet applications.
You will get just the right
amount of information, whether you want to just know how to make the best
purchase decisions or the total inner workings of some technology. My goal is
help you use technology in fiscally sound, strategic, creative and fun way.

What do you get when you hire
me?
Professional speaker. I am fortunate to have spoken around the
world at numerous conferences doing keynotes, break-out sessions, small and
large groups, hands-on workshops. I speak to audiences ranging from rank
beginners at the local Rotary to the most geeky collections of CIOs. I am a
member of the National Speakers Association. Here is more information on my speaking business,
including a current copy of my one sheet, a look at my testimonials, and a list
of my previous speeches.
Product tester. Companies come to me to try out new computer networking products and understand how they will work at some of the largest corporate IT shops. This hands-on approach permeates my work and gives me a firm foundation of what I recommend for my audiences and readers. The results can be found in various blogs and podcasts here.
Freelance
writer. New York Times, Baseline Magazine and Techtarget are just a few of the publications where I write
over a 100 articles a year on technology. I have also appeared
on numerous TV and radio shows such as ABC
World News Tonight and NPR's Science Friday.
Create magazines and Web sites. Because I love to write, I also have
started and run dozens of print and Web magazines, including being
editors-in-chief at Tom's Hardware.com, Network Computing and Digital Landing.com. I still am an
advisor to publishing companies looking for help on starting new properties or
tuning up their existing magazines. I was also on the original launch of PC
Week's first demographic
section called Connectivity.
