Bigger projects, Web and print

  • For VAR Business’s annual State of Technology 2002 issue, I managed, edited, assigned, and wrote a couple of the pieces too. http://www.varbiz.com/sections/main/2002sot.jhtml
  • Same for their State of Tech 2003 issue http://www.varbiz.com/sections/main/2003ti.jhtml
  • For CMP’s Electronics group, I organized and launched a new series of DesignLine Web sites back in 2004. This includes hiring staff, setting overall editorial direction, coordinated production. The first one in the series was www.automotivedesignline.com.
  • While at Tom’s Hardware, I launched a new series of Web sites in 2005 including www.DenGuru.com, www.TwitchGuru.com, and www.MobilityGuru.com.  This included hiring staff and freelancers, setting overall editorial direction, editing articles, developing new production systems, and working with sales and marketing.
  • I also wrote two full-length computer books on home networking (2001) and Internet email (1998), the latter was co-authored with Marshall Rose, the inventor of the POP protocol and the greatest co-author any writer could ever ask for.
