Welcome to my website. Here you’ll find a mix of deep archives from work that dates back to the dawn of the Internet and the beginnings of my editorial career in the 1980s along with links to my most recent work, mainly in cybersecurity best practices. My editorial work was built on a career in IT when PCs were first entering businesses, where I worked at several end-user computing departments and managed a small software development group.
I have written about numerous B2B IT-related topics outside of security, including network management, cloud computing, storage, virtualization, and software development. You can find links to this work on my blog. In addition to shorter magazine/blog pieces, I have published two non-fiction books on computer networking and enterprise email.
This writing spans more than 30 years, first as an editorial manager, where I ran publications such as Network Computing, Tom’s Hardware, PC Week, ReadWrite and Inside Security. It also includes work as a full-time freelance writer for dozens of computer publications, including CSOonline and numerous TechTarget and Informa websites.
In addition, I am a frequent speaker (both virtually and in-person) on these topics and have presented in front of audiences in more than two dozen countries.
